Well what a year this has been. First the footbal season followed by some European football, then Wimbledon then the Olympics and Para Olympics and guess what, next weekend the football season starts again. Thats without the usual summer cricket etc

Can you please spare a thought for us silent people who don't like sport? How about if, say for two weeks a year, there is no sport at all. Perhaps we can then visit bars and restaurants without a tv in the corner showing something we don't wish to see or people shouting at the tv or quietly sobbing in the corner because there team has lost.

Go on, just two weeks of no sport. What does any one say about that?

i agree - at least its a bit easier in the summer as one eats outside most of the time and the big screens are mostly inside but during the winter there they are flickering away in the corner, blue strip, white strip - the day they are all in the nude Id probably miss cos I wouldnt have looked!! AND the tv. cant get away from it. But I have to admit I did watch quite a bit of the Olympics, tho not too bothered with the athletics so much.

Trouble is because of the lovely sunshine some bars have the tv outside
