heating element in galvanised water tank

how easy is it to get the element inside one of the galvanised tanks changed?
is it an expensive job or straight forward?

Are you sure its the element and not the thermostat.

On average the normal elements need replacing every 2 years ( sometimes even after 1year) as the limescale in the water furs them up. We had a stainless steel one fitted by Bracey Builders which is now into its 4th year so worth the extra price.
