Very, very, sad news - Alistair Martin passed away yesterday

Alistair Martin was submitted to Lefkosa State Hospital on 28th Oct and had been placed under intensive care. His wife, Kathy was rejoicing that he had been taken from the ICU and was ready to bring him home, to learn that he was rushed back. To her huge dismay and sadness instead of getting the news that he was ready to come home, she was informed that Alistair had had an heart attack on Sunday morning and did not make it.

Alistair, for the many members that did not know, was the writer of the KIbkom Times' and Kibkom Forum's "Random Ramblings", which he had been writing every week since issue 4 of the Kibkom Times http://kibkomtimes.com/archive/archive/issue_004/10.php

Alistair enjoyed writing his Random Ramblings and kept them coming even when he had been unwell, he had said that it kept his "grey matter" working and appreciated the opportunity to contribute to the Kibkom Times. I met Alistair several times and found him to be a "down to Earth" gentleman, with a great sense of humour, I will sorely miss his Random Ramblings as I will miss his company. My sincere condolences go out to Kathy Martin and family.
The funeral will take place on Thursday 10:30 at the Green Hill Cemetery.

So sorry to hear about Alistair. I have known him and Kathy for several years and enjoyed their company at local quizzes on many occasions, they were a fountain of knowledge.
