BBB moving out - Another Shaggy Waif and Stray Story!

It's happened again!
After working at the NCCCT 's The Hut on Saturday, went into town for a refresher at Café George and we were joined by a mini retriever type dog, black with white socks and chest blaze and an amazing ruffle of curly hair all along its back.
We asked the 'boys' how long it had been there and it had just shown up that morning. It was blending in quite happily and selling itself to the customers until one of the large dogs either took a dislike to it or got jealous. The result was that the poor little dog was chased and narrowly missed being crushed under the wheels of a 4 x 4.
Result- I brought him home.
He was badly infested with fleas, had a nasty ear infection and curiously because of where we picked him up from, his paws and pads were caked in dried mud, so much so that he had sores. He is all sorted now after baths and treatment.
I have taken him all round the Vets and to KAR and had him checked for a microchip but no joy. He weighs 8. 5 K and is only the size of our smallest Cyprus Poodle - Bonny.
Originally with his haircut I thought he had been recently groomed but one of the Vets said that she had seen dogs like him before and his curly back is natural.
He has been with us and ours for 4 1/2 days, he is house trained, loves playing with toys now, is learning to sit and stay, walks lovely on the lead and just sits in the car and looks out the window quite happily.
BBB is not amused as our own five dogs are more than enough, too much at times even though we both love them so much.
I am looking for a loving home for the little dog who is still intact but I would have him ''done'' (ouch!) and I would quite happily look after him in the future for holidays etc, as I do for others I have rehomed.
One of the 'boys' took pictures of him and posted them on H4P's so if someone could repost them on here, I would be most grateful as my old brain does not know how to do it. They put that he was at Café George.
Apologies to the moderators for putting this on the main page but if they would leave it on for a little while ? - Many thanks.
All I can sum up with is that this little one is a sweetheart, so eager and willing to learn, loves people and other dogs, loves to play and have cuddles and he would really give so much pleasure and devotion. He is a joy! ( Secretly I have named him Ozzie - as in Osbourne Black Sabbath)

I know how you feel Mrs BBB. I see gorgeous strays virtually everyday, We have little lap dog types at home and left to me would have a house full. Mr.S has threatened to walk out if I take in another one - we have 4 - and sadly this time I think he actually means it!! If Ozzies feet were thick with mud it could have been a building site. BTW there is something in cement that can cause sores on dog pads.

Hi Mike, he is obviously still in puppy stages. I do hope he grows out of it pronto if only for your blood pressure. I don't know if they do an equivalent for dogs & even if they do if you can get it over there but there is a product called "feliway" it helps to keep them calm, cats that is......just a thought

'Feliway' for me,me thinks !!!She ıs just a boisterous puppy, and, just dıscovered can climb onto 6 ft.walls.....and get down the other side...I now think it ıs a lab-gazelle cross !!!He was only making friends with the neıghbours chickens (may be my plea to the judge)...if you remember 'Challenge Anneka' he will be 'Challenge Mike' !!!!

Sounds like my (now 7 year old Alsatian cross)when she arrived outside the gate, She was 8 months then and could jump a 6ft wall from a standing start!!. Cost over £1000 to get metal fencing to keep her in and to protect anything chewable. Good luck and thanks.

Can anyone considering adding a loving, funny, cuddly, playful, willing to learn little dog to their Family or maybe someone living on their own who would like someone to welcome them back home, cuddle up with, take for walks or have company on trips out, please click on to the link of photo's of Ozzy. He would give all that and more !

Also sorry to say but myself and some other members who keep in touch with me via FB and PMs have decided to leave this forum now due to the ignorant attitude of a couple of people who are preventing these posts from staying up
Please get me on Face book, pm me for my contact because I no longer wish to hear posts from ugly people who think someone else should cull all of the animals so that they can live easy
Soner hope you stay busy with the book
Best wishes, from our family 43 years of living in Northern Cyprus

Surfmeetseast I hope you reconsider leaving this Forum. I for one would certainly miss your advice and support.

I have had BBB's Dog Beauty Parlour on the go this morning. I am afraid six is no laughing matter. Aysel at Hair of the Dog deserves a Medal !
The 'New Kid on the Block' Ozzy really loved being brushed and squirted with lotions and potions! He is a little Star !
If anyone can give him a loving home, please be in touch!

Good Morning !
If you don't mind I would just like to give you a quick update on little 'Ozzy', the little Cafe George dog we have had with us now for just over a week.
There has been no enquiries so far about him but it is early days and there are that many poor dogs out there needing someone to take them in and give them a home, we know it is big ask and is not going to be easy.
We have decided, as Ozzy seems to be in Top Form now, fleas and ticks gone and ear infection clear, to have him ''done'' on Friday. He can then have his jabs etc: and hopefully will be all ready for that special person/ family to meet him and hopefully fall for him !
He is a little Cracker, honestly.
Plays lovely with the others, no aggression whatsoever, goes off onto his bed in the kitchen at night time, loves tossing an old pop bottle about and has a great game with an old piece of cloth. He is a joy!
If anyone would like to meet him, just pm me.
I will be the one taking him as BBB has not got the stomach for it ! He would probably walk funny afterwards in sympathy!

Thank you Doubtful George.
Hope I am not going to upset people by writing this but then obviously my post is about a dog - a little one at that so if you prefer not to read about dogs in any shape or form, pick another post ! Rant over !!!!
Little Ozzy's ''op'' has had to be postponed due to him having an accident last night and on good advice from a certain very Wise Owl, I am writing this as a warning to other dog and puppy owners
I had given all the dogs their tea, chicken, tuna, rice and mixed biscuits was the speciality of the house yesterday and then I got on with preparing the grown-ups meal.
Ozzy must have started playing with his bowl, tossing it up maybe and unfortunately his lower lip and jaw got tightly crushed into the gaps used as handles on the bowl.
He started screaming in pain and I tried by best to hold him whilst trying to cut the bowl off but with no luck.
BBB had to get home quick and with the help of our neighbour because by this time I was in bits, Ozzy was taken to Altay at Vetpoint who had to sedate him to be able to cut the bowl off him.
He is OK now but I think he has gone through enough for the moment!
A warning to other dog/cat owners please check the feeding bowls you are using - never happened to us before but it was very upsetting and could have caused a nasty injury.

|It is the morning of Friday 27th November and for little Ozzy it is a day that will change his life forever!
At 9.30am he will be having his little ''bullies' off! - Ouch!
All of the other five plus him are wondering what they have all done wrong as none of them have had their breakfast. I thought as Ozzy couldn't have any, it was better to give the others theirs after dropping him off.
It will be a long morning waiting for news of Ozzy.
After he has got over the operation I will continue to try and find this little chap the best Present ever (not just for Christmas) - a home of his own for life!

What a day and a half !
While driving little Ozzy down the mountain road this morning on his journey to the Vets, there he was enjoying the view and then we had to slow down to allow horses and riders to pass, etiquette of the road and all that. His little face was a picture as these were probably the first he had ever seen.
He really enjoyed meeting Altay again after his little accident last week with his feeding bowl and I am so thankful to say that all went well with the operation today.
We are going to try and manage without a lampshade and so far so good! Each of the dogs had to come up and check him out and then they knew to back off, no playtime but quiet time. It is amazing how they know!
Hopefully we will all have a good nights sleep tonight!

It is just two days after little Ozzy's ''op'' and he has been amazing.
The picture with Altay at Vetpoint was just before he was prepped for it and I must say the way he came round and was afterwards is credit to Altay. Apart from Ozzy being sleepy and occasionally wanting to lick his wound ( am I making the men cringe whose reading this), you would not have known he had gone through it.
I have found out this morning that I can hire him out as a fruit picker. He has had a great game pulling lemons and oranges off the trees, helped along of course by Alfie.
I know it a chance in a million the way things are with so many dogs and cats needing homes but if there is anyone who could open their hearts and home to the little man - he truly is a Christmas Cracker.
