Track from Green Hills Cemetery to Karaman

I would like to thank whoever was responsible for improving the track from Green Hills Cemetery, up to Karaman. I gave up using it some months ago because there were such deep ruts and huge boulders, but gave it another go on Saturday, and it was fine, and easy to drive. It's still quite a long way, but offers different scenery, with the little church on the way, and is a useful alternative if needed.

Thanks for the info! Just checking that it is from karaman and NOT from the GAU roundabout that we are talking about. Presumably that is still the same? And the path of which you speak, what kind of car could trave on it please.

I go up by Army Camp at GAU roundabout on bypass, then, instead of returning the same way, come out of cemetery and turn left up quite a twisty track. Where it joins at a T junction, go right, and continue past the little Church until you come to a sharp left turn onto a tarmac road, with houses either side. At the end of this road you'll know where you are. Good luck. I drive a 4 x 4, with quite high clearance, but have never used the 4 x 4 option yet! Maybe I could take you up there when you're not too busy.

to Dog walker, you are issuing me with a challenge and an invitation , both of which I would love to accept. I think it would be interesting fcor me (I don't have a suitable vehicle) and could be interesting ot put in the paper for others to learn about it, especially if I take some pics. Watcha fink? e mail me so we can set something up if you like! sounds good.

I should think it would take between 45 mins and an hour to walk from Green Hills Cemetery to Karaman, but that would, of course, depend whether you were in the marathon league, or just a leisure walker. It would be a very pleasant walk though.

Does it really take an hour to get a beer in the Crows????
anyway, when I have done the walk I can tell you exactly how long it takes, can't I. And I am not a marathon walker (not any more!) and neither is my dog!, so it could be even longer in which case if your statement is true, Crows would be losing a lot of customers or customers falling on the floor due to dehydration.

Dog Walker - can y9u still use the track to the cemetery from near the army camp - i thought you had to go along to the lights and do a U turn (if coming from west!) and take the signposted track. If one can still use the other one up the little bit of tarmac to the camp, it would make it much easier!

Yes, you can now use the track from near the army camp, because a housing estate is being built there. You go up the road towards the camp, but turn left onto a track just before the camp entrance. Continue on this track, running parallel with the bypass, with the new buildings on your right and you will shortly join the usual track.
