Friends who have newly moved over are about to go for their first residency permit. How busy is the police station these days? Do they still have to go mega early? One of them is disabled and cannot stand for a long time - is there any special arrangement for them getting their paperwork without having to stand around in the police station for hours??

I always go to the Girne police station on a Wednesday, whilst the market is on. I have never had to queue for more than 10 mins. I seems the local market is a bigger attraction than getting your residency.
I always go into Lefkosa to the immigration office on a Wednesday afternoon too, and again do not have to wait.

I remember waiting for ages at the police station, getting to Lefkosia at 6.30 am, getting number etc etc . Seems that the queue to leave the TRNC is now longer !!

I renewed mine once when I had a broken foot and walking was difficult to say the least. The policeman came out to the car to do it with me there. They were very helpful
