Moving Silence - Within the framework of the 7th X-Dream Festival
Following the great success of Moving Silence in Cyprus in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 at the ARTos Foundation, “Moving Silence” takes place at ARTos for the fifth consecutive year in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut Cyprus.
On 11 December 2015 at 8.30 p.m. at ARTos Foundation musicians and composers from Germany and Cyprus will meet to perform live soundtracks for video and film works without sound by contemporary creators of their choice. The audience will have a unique experience where the musicians-composers perform live their music while the films/videos that are inspired them are simultaneously screened.
"The contemporary cinema could take back this expressive freedom" the Moving Silence's members state. "Any visual style can profit from a sound language, by using advanced digital technologies as well as old analogue techniques. Live performances sustain and amplify the films as musicians can breathe new life into silent cinema, which inappropriately remained silent for such a long time."

Nach dem großen Erfolg der Moving Silence Veranstaltungen 2011, 2012, 2013 und 2015 in der ARTos Foundation wird es beim diesjährigen 7. X-Dream Festival erneut ein „Moving Silence“ Event geben.
Gemeinsam mit dem Goethe-Institut präsentiert die ARTos Foundation am 11. Dezember um 20.30 Uhr in ARTos Musiker aus Deutschland und Zypern, die live Stummfilme zeitgenössischer Filmemacher mit eigenen Soundtracks begleiten.
„Das zeitgenössische Kino kann diese expressive Freiheit des frühen Films wiederbeleben“, sagen die Mitglieder von Moving Silence. „Jeder visuelle Stil kann von einer Tonsprache profitieren, die fortgeschrittene digitale Technologien nutzt, aber auch alte analoge. Live Performances können neues Leben in stumme Filmbilder bringen und diese, die allzulange stumm blieben, erweitern.“
