I understand the new cinema opens today.
The films will I am told all be in English.
4 screens, restaurant, and one screen dedicated to kids films.
Does anyone have any other info on the place, it would be nice if they joined to Cy forums to inform all about the films for the next month etc.

They have a website which seems quite informative
http://starluxcinema.com/en/ They are next to Near East Bank, not far from the GAU junction.

Ah, perfect thanks Smiler.
I did google things like 'karaoglanaglu cinema' etc, but nothing came up. Wasn't aware what it was actually called.
It was a guy in the NE Bank that first told me about the place. He has seen all inside and says it is excellent, much better than any cinemas he used to visit in the UK.
Good news for Kara, along with the new China Bazaar.

An update as I know it.
Looked up the web page kindly supplied above, but no prices. But I found the times. Along we went to see Frankenstein at the 4p.m. perfiormance. Turned out this is in thge VIP lounge and the cost for two tickets was 58tl. Mr Tight Wadder felt he did not want to spend that. Next performance in another cidnema was at 7p.m. and we were told the tickets were 21tl each.
So tomorrow we go to Lefkosia. I know we have petorl cost,s but the parking is underground where i can leave my dog, and there are lifts.
Karaoglanoglu is super new, nice coffee bar, cxhildren's play facilitie.s Car park is open air at the back with steps up to the entrance (no good for 'him downstairs' ).
Unfortunately the web page does not respond when I click on Buy Ticket, so obviously not yet finalised.
Saw a couple from Credit West who say it is a super duper cinema. We just want to see the foilm on a large screen.
So, you pays your money and takes your choice. But great for local families etc and technicdlaly we thought it owuld be great for us, but...........................
What I do like is the coffee bar facilities on the same floor though.
Enjoy!

I am SO glad I found this thread. I was beginning to think I might have to drive to the south to watch The Force Awakens (which gets it on the 25th of December). According to this website, they are supposed to get it on the 17th (a full day before the American release). How accurate is that likely to be?
