Our electricity bill and also 2 friends, 1 Alsancak , 1 and Lapta we are also Lapta have received bills that are over double, the normal amount for this time of year.

Has any one else noticed.

Could it be because you didn't get a bill the month before? We're in Lapta,didn't get a bill either by text or email in October but got a paper bil for 2 months on the 25th November ,just another kibtek hiccough I think

Has the amount of electricity used doubled or are you paying more per unit?

We received one today. We've used a lot of electricity this month, but I was pleasantly surprised with the bill.

Ours seemed horrifyung until we realised it was for about 6 weeks! Maybe yours is the same???

This has happened to someone i know.
For 4 months their bills had been very low with the new meter then last month they had a massive bill. They found out the previous 4 months had been estimated and the high one was from a true reading. Then this month it went very low again - why have estimated bills on meters that are supposed to be capable of being read remotely !!!!

A bit confused, paid my electric bill (had email for amount and paper copy in the meter box that tallied) but then I had an other email saying I owed 5tl which was apparently read the day after my previous bill.............and no I have not had a new meter installed..............and yes I have paid the 5tl bill but am puzzled..............any idea's why this has happened other than going to the main office in Girne for them to just shrug their shoulders at me?

So far no problem. New meter installed 28th November. TXT & email same day with last reading & Bill. Assume next bill will be around 28th December. But can't

Thank You all for your helpful replies. one of our friend who's bill is excessive is going into the office on Monday. the other person had been away in UK for 12 days out of the month and expected a lower bill, but it was well over double.

Hi, we were shocked that our bill was 1346tl for one month. Normally, it is about 300tl. This is our third bill and the previous two on the new meters seemed normal. I went to the main office in town and that man who speaks good English had a careful look on our account. He said the readings seemed ok although he agreed it was a very high bill. I haven't paid it yet but will have to do something as we don't want to lose our electricity. I have just tried reading our new meter again and this this time the words 'credit discount' appeared, and in English. All very odd but what I do know is that we cannot afford such a huge bill every month.

Yes, check the period the bill covers. We had our November bill on 4th when the new meter was fitted and didn't get another until 22nd December! Maybe Kibtek are having problems with accessing the new meters via computer.

On the new bill, I can see written Tariff 02. Does anyone know what that means??? Also, the period says only 201512 which I'm guessing is December 2015. We seemed to have been charged 1621.00 units at 0.54, the highest price. Other units used are rated at the lesser amounts pro rata.

If you can work out the number of days between the previous reading and the one on the bill that you are referring to, then you can calculate the number of units that should be allowed in each price band - it's 8 and one third units per day. Make sure that you got them, or else you'll be charged for too many at the higher price!

We got a very large bill out of the blue, went to Kibtek, showed our previous - much lower bills - and they came and changed the meter to check the old one out. Seems it was on the blink and they reimbursed us the over-charge. Very efficient. I think after my previous post about Kibtek sorting out the electric lines clashing outside our apartment, they should paying me as their good news messenger!

We've just had a bill which was 300tl more than we expected (we always have large bills for three months in the winter) However, today we went into the bank to reluctantly pay up. Bank cashier said the amount from Kibtek that she brought up on her PC was 295tl less than our paper bill. BTW it wasn't for two months consumption either. We paid the Credit West amount and will see what happens next month
