Hi Everyone

Many thanks for the contact. Everything you all say is 'Spot On' Did some fault finding last night and came to the conclusion it was either the main relay, capacitor or compressor. rang the Iceman at 9am he was here at 9.40 replaced relay and capacitor but no joy. Compressor knackered as the unit is some 7 yrs old false economy to replace plus it would take over a week to sort it out, Siemens great product but service non existent. The only real option was a complete replacement. Iceman, it was the Son, gave us a few options we went to Girne to look at a couple of units, went for the Indesit frost free unit, decent price as well considering this is North Cyprus. delivered and installed within 2 hours and they took the old unit away. Icemen Son didn't charge for his time for his investigitive time either. As a Retired Electrical Engineer no waffle or bull took place which is unusual for North Cyprus. Also, didn't get mixed up with TL/£

I'm very surprised you said Siemans service was non existent . I had Siemans fridge freezer fitted when we bought & after about 6/7 years it stopped , got a local guy out who said maybe get Siemans from Lefkosia , done that they come out had it maybe 2 weeks & said it had a leak behind the carcas & it could not be repaired , so I said so I need a new one , yes they said , it was an integrated unit & I had been looking while in there shop & they was close to 2000 euro ( interegrated unit not stand alone) but Siemans reconised on that model it was a design fault & they will replace my old unit with a new one at no cost !!!! Yes I was gobsmacked but they come a week later & fitted it , while they was here I told them that 2 of my rings on the ceramic Siemans hob had packed up ages ago but as we are just 2 we got by , he done no more out come the tool box & 10 mins later we had 4 rings again , I ask how much I owed & he said no money !!!
If anyone can beet that for service I'll eat my fridge freezer after I eat the contents .
