I purchased a villa last year in Alagadi where we have a shared swimming pool with 2 others. The other owners are requesting that I pay around £75PM towards maintenance which also includes electricity for running the pool all year round. Is this a reasonable price to pay?

Sound a lot between three of you. But it depends on the size of the pool and how long the pump is on during the day.

How much do they pay? Is there a record of that? Also do the previous owners have any info on what they paid?

Contact the company direct and ask them what they charge. What was in your purchase contract?

works out £40PM each of us ( 3 of us). No contract and maintenance people get paid in cash? Pump is on all day

Absolutely no need for the pump to be on all day ( aside from making the pool cleaners job easier) even in height of summer 3-4 hours sufficient and come the winter when the pools not in use ,no need for it to be on at all other than 1 Hour a week to circulate the chemicals. This is based on personal experience of 9 years .

Four years ago, prior to moving here, I was paying £50pcm not including electricity for an 8x4 pool!
£40 inc. looks pretty reasonable to me, but of course it is shared so the real winners are the maintenance company!

I have a standard 8x4 pool and pay £60 per month for maintenance and that includes all chemicals, 2 cleans per week in the summer and 1 per week in the winter. The same guy charges £75 for a 10x5 pool.

While I was out of the country and only the fridge and pool running the electricity bill was 87tl (summer) but my pump is on about 7 hours in summer months and 4 hours in winter.

Finally there is water - 10 tons (100tl) every month or so on average.

The key seems to be your pump being on all the time - totally unnecessary from all I have been told. Also, if the pool is not on a separate meter then whoever is paying can reasonably charge you all at the highest rate he/she incurs each month. That will certainly put the cost up.

We are in a block of 6 apts and up to about a year ago we were paying an average of £550 a year for pool clean and electric.
In summer 2 cleans a week and 1 in winter, pump is on about 5/6hrs a day in summer but not sure about winter as we are not there, chemicals and water extra at about £40 a year.

One of the residents decided that he could get someone else cheaper but there was issues with other residents (make your own assumptions there ?) So he decided to buy the kit needed to do it himself and I must say well done him, the pool is great and very clean and this year we have only paid about £100 which includes the purchase of the kit.
I would guess next year it should drop to about £80.

I suppose what im saying is learn about pools and their upkeep,.. do it yourself and save a bob or 3

that's a good average price as a pool cost lot more to run in summer
