Does anyone know if any shop repairs mobile gas heaters? Ours fires but doesn't stay on. We bought new valve but that hasn't helped. Plenty gas in bottle.

Just had same problem. Went to Repair Man, same road as 1001, go past which would never on your right hand side, go down that road and it is on corner left hand side, big sigh, Repair Man.
Working well now, and don't we need it !!!!!

Took ours last year to the repair man in Karakum, on the corner of the road that leads down to Taners. Needed a new thermocouple. Problem fixed, I think it cost about 35 lira or so, not much. You can't miss the shop, it has lots of used fridges, washers, etc outside.

The one in Karakum is closed, telephone no on door. Sends you to the one near 1001.

Ah, forget my last message, just been past and the shop has gone.....well not the shop, its up for rent but the man has gone.

I have posted this before but it may help again. The fire will shut down if the oxygen level in the room falls to around 19% from its norm of 21%. This happens when doors are shut and no fresh oxygen is entering the room. This is a safety feature required on all flue less gas appliances and should not be seen as a fault. This shut down is done by the oxygen depletion sensor (o.d.s.). If this is your problem the gas flame will tend to lift off the pilot jet and let the thermocouple cool down shutting down the fire. Adequet ventilation is the answer. A way to test this is to test the fire outside where the oxygen cannot depleted. Bear in mind also that as well as using up the oxygen if the room is sealed the fire also pushes deadly carbon monoxide into the room.

Not all houses are open plan. If I shut the living room door the fire will run for a few hours and will definitely shut down via the oxygen depletion sensor. Fact. We are not talking about levels where breathing become difficult. That why these safety features are incorporated onto the fire and the fire should carry a warning label saying keep the room well ventilated. People should also fit in the room a carbon monoxide monitor. This is actually a requirement in at least the u.k. for all wood burning appliances. These monitors are a life saver and can be purchased very cheaply on ebay
