Has any one renewed their insurance in the last week & noticed a rise in 3rd party from TL 250 to TL 320.

I was speaking to Libby at Esta and she said all 3rd party has gone up because the government has mandated new higher rates of third party liability (75,000 I think)

I thought third party cover was standard throughout the industry, for whatever car you have and whichever company you insure with, though it seems that Geordie has proved me wrong.
It might be worth asking your insurance company to quote for additional third party coverage just in case you are unlucky enough to have a prang with an expensive TC car (you fault of course !!)

Yes I do just that ,it costs another TL 100. Well worth it in case of what you said, so I am paying TL 420 Total.

Yes jim1127 - you are correct there has been an increase from 50,000 TL to 75,000 TL cover on all third party cover. This was enforced by the government, but makes perfect sense when you consider the exchange rate at the moment.
If you are looking to renew your third party insurance please ask us here at Esta Insurance. As long as we have all the information required, passport number, date of birth, car details, we can quickly check 4 different systems to get you the best price.
But on average you should be looking at about 320 - 330 TL

Please don't hesitate to call us on 0392 444 3782 for more information.

Please also remember we offer very competitive rates on house insurance, travel insurance and life insurance.

Our emergency health insurance is also proving very popular for those people who don't have free access to the social sigorta system.

Safe driving....and a very Happy 2016 to you all.

The Esta Insurance Team.

Esta are quite correct. We have just been notified of our new 3rd party by Dagli Ins and its gone from 50,000 to 75,000. In line I guess with more and more very expensive cars on the road, claiming against you. They make the claim and we minnows pay the price!! We only have a small Kia but our premium will now be 250gbp. (inclusive of 3rd party and full comp)

I seem to recall I saw mention either on here, or a link from here or in the paper of an estimated 60% of cars in NC have no tax, and I assume if people can't afford that, then no insurance.

I guess this increase will only lead to more not complying with the law.

Would be interesting to know how many, if a serious clampdown happened, and cars were confiscated, would suddenly pay the fees, (plus the back taxes).

If the mentioned 60% is about correct, it would certainly generate a large revenue for the Gov if they did clamp down and enforce payments, or, here might be a lot less cars on the road.

Also a word of caution to anyone buying a car, you could be liable for the back taxes, so beware.
