The rules with Turkish Airlines states that even if your booking is economy if the flight times change by more than 15 mins you are entitled to a full refund if it suits you.

Thanks for replies-helps to know its not just us! Took advantage of their offer to chane the day we fly, also offered a full refund, coz flight connection times were impossible to make transfers ie 20 minutes. Now our new flight schedules are being changed, so far changes are not a problem.....watch this space!

Out flight from Heathrow in May has been changed. Ok going to Cyprus, but coming back transit now only 40 minutes. Called yesterday, found a UK number on the website and the Istanbul - London leg changed to the next flight. Now have 2 hours 20 in Instanbul.
Very impressed with the customer service, no quibble flight changed and new confirmation emailed as we spoke. No extra charges, but would have queried had they said we had to pay.

In December I had to cancel flights with Turkish, I phoned to say the cancellation was due to unexpected ill health, I was told by the lady on the phone I would only get refunded the taxes as they were economy no refund flights, she told me to hold the line, she came back on to say she had got authorisation to give me a full refund and it was back in my bank 3 days later.

Quite correct - for some, at least...

"You pays your money, and you makes your choice"

This thread does offer a lot of choice!

My return journey in December was changed.

Birmingham to Istanbul OK, my Istanbul to Ercan changed by around 40 mins, did not present a problem. What I found odd is that when I went to check in online 24 hours before my flight, the system would not allow me as 'my flight had been changed' I either had to liaise with my travel agent or ring a number in Turkey, did neither and had to check in at Birmingham.

Mine flight in May has been changed 3 times and each time I had to ring Turkey to accept the changes. They make a note that you have accepted the changes. I wonder if you don't ring...do they assume you do not accept them and therefore you do not wish to fly? No idea.

Good point Carrierbag

Just checked my email notification from Nov for the Dec flight and it does say to ring to confirm/ reschedule. Teach me to read it properly in future, as the flight change did not affect me, just took it as read.

We received 7 e-mails from TA yesterday cancelling 3 flights we were making in March April and May. We rang customer services who said are you sure they came from us because the flights are still current.

We have now sent copies of the emails by post and await confirmation in writing.
