Update - following a meeting between KAR, a representative from the Girne Belediyesi, and Erbay (buffe owner) a decision was made about which/how many dogs were to be returned to Girne town center. This decision was made following liaison and discussion between the above.
It was decided that 4 dogs would be returned to Girne (near the Round Tower) immediately.
There will be ongoing discussions, between the relevant persons/groups, regarding the other dogs being held at the temporary Girne dog "site" - but assurances have been made regarding their care and housing whilst they are being held there. This will be monitored.
The outcome of the dogs, and the discussions about their outcome, has to follow the correct process with the authorities.
KAR would like to thank everyone again for their support of these dogs.

It is just a shame that this decision to remove all the dogs was not taken in conjunction with relevant animal welfare groups, I know "pigs & sky come to mind".

I have no problem with dogs being removed from the streets but it must be done with thought, the sexes must be segregated, neutering would keep aggression down & of course adequate shelter from all the elements & of course appropriate food & water.

Unfortunately the powers that be ran before they could walk but at least sense has overcome & the dogs kept confined will be monitored.

Good news for everyone I hope

It's interesting to see that 972 people signed a petition started by Vicky Leigh,in the UK, about the action taken by
Girne beledieysiyesi. Just a few short of a thousand. Amazing response from all over the world.
