We bought a LG dvd with surround sound some 4 years ago, recently we gad a problem with it, Zorlu tried repairing twice unfortunately it did not resolve the problem. I called them again and they said that they would collect the unit, when I rang yesterday (day of collection) they said they were going to replace the dvd player unit and provide us with a new one . Wow, what an after sales service, it was out of guarantee, so no obligation on them.

Good to hear it was sorted out. Unfortunately my experiance of after sales service over here for the few times we have had a problem has been between poor and disgraceful. Bought a air freshener from Mr pound a while back, went to use it about a week later to find the button on the top was broken. Called in maybe a week later just to be told that it had to be returned within five days for them to replace it. It was exchanged eventually but this was really poor. Returning a product to the big yapi place in karakum, they do not believe in refunding the money you have to accept a credit note.

Hi thornaby, yes that's about par for the course really - actually, you did quite well getting either a replacement or a credit note!

I remember what the UK was like in the 60's when I started work - there was no way that you could get a refund without an Affadavit signed by a board of Archbishops!

They're just as bad in the South, apart from the big 'Chains' and Multinationals, and even they're not what one would expect back in Blighty...

But then, I suppose that we're not back in Blighty, so we'd better just carry on, checking every single item before we pay for it!

Silverfox totally agree! What do you expect from a pound shop. You get what you pay for and Keith well no comment. Have always had great service here in the 7 years lived here. Arcelik service is amazing. No call out charge and when they come out if they do not find a problem, no charge. Replacement parts are cheap. We had a guy drive from Famagusta to look at our telly, nothing wrong with telly, but the android box we were using was causing the problem. No charge! We insisted on giving some money, as there were time and travel costs involved. We are always polite, maybe that is the key to receiving good service!

That's why we buy absolutely EVERYTHING electrical and accessories from the shop at the bottom of the GAU road i.e. Blomberg.
Everything is discounted by 10%, we pay no KDV, regardless of whether pay by plastic or cash AND, all guarantees are honoured. Can't fault then and if we need service personnel (they come from Lefkosa) they are with us the next day. Far better services that we ever had in the UK. The men know that they will be offered a coffee and biscuits and a polite welcome. No whingeing Brits to face when they get here!!
