Can anyone advise me on a good lawer that can help me ge my late mums medical nots from the hospital where she died. Thought the would be helpful and let us hae them but oh know we have to get legal help. Its bad enough tha my mum dies just 6 hours after they discharged her and now this. Damm disgraceful

It is very strange, but not surprising. However, when we go to any hospital for what ever reason we are given CD's and written reports on our ailments, we are given x-rays and MRI scans both written and in form of a CD, mainly of course because we move from hospital to hospital if we so choose, consequently we should in theory be allowed our notes. However, I suspect we would all be allowed anything and everything OTHER THAN OUR PERSONAL notes, despite you saying earlier that it says on their web site that patients are allowed to see them. Is that is the answer then, can you see the notes but not take them off the premises?. Perhaps you could ask if you could have a photocopy of all that is in your mothers file, but not the original and just hope that nothing is omitted? Whether you would ever get a "solicitor" to take up your case against a Hospital is another matter altogether. I do wish you luck though.

Just need to make sence of whey she was let out of hospital being told that she was fine and now just having panic attacks and 6 hours later she was dead. They even got a psychiatrist in to see her. On her deth cert they said she had a asthma attack that killed her. My mum did not have asthma and had never been treated for asthma at any time in her life. Even her own gp here has said that she should not have been let out without certain tests being done. Cant get my jead around it. If they have nothing to hide i cannot see the harm in giving us the notes.

The only thing I can think of is just ask to read them, if you have someone with you keep person talking and then try and take photographs of them either on phone or iPad, awful to use such subdefuse.

The Kolan have declined to let me even see my mums notes. I wonder what they are hiding. Refused us an autopsy until several hours before the funeral and then made my sister sign a letter to say we refused one or they would not let her take mum to lay her to rest.
At one point mum was put on oxygen as her sats dropped, after 7 mins hernsats weremnot up so inchecket the oxygen and the nurse did not even connect it. I connected ut and waited a further 25 mins for amnursemto come backmand check her, she was left unattended in the icu and on a ventolator. Whlile in the icu they tied her hands down, she was 71 ffs.

I wonder if you can seek a court order demanding the release of the case notes into the custody of the court. Then your legal team might get access to them. Your personal observations of your mother's care should also be given to your legal team. Good luck with your pursuit of finding out what happened.
