This guy needs to get his facts correct. If he did his research correctly he would find out that is is only a very small percentage of expats that come back for treatment and they have probably paid a lot more into the system than most other EU/non EU people have! What a hypocrite!

And many still do that live abroad in the form of local tax on UK pensions, house rental incomes etc.

Yep! Came back to the UK in September and had my heart op here about a month ago. Still paying income tax on my pensions and have paid NI contributions all my working life.

My logic says although I no longer pay NI contributions as I'm retired it doesn't matter where I live if I want to use a UK system I've paid for.

"How do you plead Johnerebus?
"Not Guilty M'Lud"
"Case dismissed"
"Thank you M'Lud"

I wish to complain about this post on the grounds it is bad for my blood pressure! Only joking

Who was the opionated self satisfied uninformed idiot who wrote that Raz and where did you find it?

Apart from the points others have made, has he any idea of how difficult it is if one genuinely makes the sad decision to return to the Uk for health and age reasons to reestablish resIdence, after living abroad for 20 years and losing contacts(and saving the NHS 20 years of medical, dental and optical care) - and being forced to sell ones UK property by laws which penalise landlords in favour of vandal tenants and inefficient Agents.

Thank Dalorkat

Shows the danger of taking things out of context and also the problems of EU membership.

At least I can prove taxes and NI, but its going to take a bit suitcase or a lot of copying docs onto computer - now where did I put my Birth Certificate? A lot to cope with if one is disabled let alone seriously ill.
