Great Stone owners lose appeal to keep their homes

Some time back an article was written in the Kibkom Times posing the question "Is this a good time to buy in TRNC"

I found out yesterday that sadly the owners of the properties have lost their appeal in the High Court and having now exhausted the legal system in TRNC, unless they want to take the next step to appeal eviction through the Courts, they will be evicted. It seems there is no other course of action except to sue Turkey and go to the ECHR, but that could be costly and take a lot of time. It's very sad for the 13 owners of Great Stone properties.

Whilst there are many successes in buying in TRNC always sad when some are not so lucky and treated in the way these people along with others, who are still going through the Court process to protect their properties, have been.

We purchased a property on Marina Villas, Karsiyaka and all 27 owners lost everything when the judge bankrupted the site there. I feel sorry for everyone whom was been ripped off by the system.

Charlie, was your home lost under the same circumstances as Greatstones in which the builder and land owner had an agreement that the developer did not fulfill?

Our hearts go out to these owners it's been a long fight for justice - there but for the grace of God went us the one thing in our favor was that Tash et al had got the land for our site from family members even still when he did a bunk to the UK we still had a fight on our hands but eventually managed to get our shared deeds it was with much help from Marian Bless her soul and some others
