The Tree of Wishes
Does anyone have directions to the Tree of Wishes, I believe it's somewhere off the road near Getcikale or in that area.

I think it is on the road out towards Kayalar or at least there is one there on the cliff with ribbons etc. tied on it.

ÇINARLI CAVE
There is a tree about a five minute drive from the cave, people tie ribbons around the branches and make wishes.

From Lefkoşa, head north (as if to Girne) to the big roundabout, turn right and follow signs to Gecitkale; once there as per link -
"Incirli cave is found by taking the road north from Gecitkale towards the coast. You will see the signs for the cave and Cinarli village shortly after leaving Gecitkale."

Re: The Tree of Wishes
I think the Tree of Wishes near Cinarli is now dead. It's wooden skeleton is still impressive. Perhaps a special wish will make it grow again.

Jofra,
"Incirli cave is found by taking the road north from Gecitkale towards the coast. You will see the signs for the cave and Cinarli village shortly after leaving Gecitkale."
Taking the road north from Gecitkale is this the road through the mountain towards Tatlisu, where I think it will be a turning on the right, or going the other way.

Hi johnny1
From Lefkoşa driving towards the airport,
turn left just before the flyover to airport.
Heading towards Gecitkale, keep going until you reach
the roundabout after Gecitkale,
the new dual carriageway is on the right,
there is a large petrol station on the left, other side of roundabout.
Turning left at this roundabout will take you up to the Cinarli Village turning,
this is on the right hand side, app 5 minute drive.
Cinarli Village and the Ancient Tree
http://cyprusscene.files.wordpress.com/ ... -2-sml.jpg
The tree is Calabrina Pine (Pinus Brutia) and is located in Cinarli Village in the Kantara Mountains, which are in North Cyprus.
The age of the tree is 300 years, according to the 1991 Investigations. It measures 4.4 metres circumference and is 9 metres tall. Its Turkish name is “Kizilcam”.
This is a good follow on from Incirli Cave. Both the cave and the tree are signposted in the village of Cinarli. The left turn from the village, to the cave, is a nice tarmaced road but to the tree the tarmac runs out but it is passable by car.
There is a lay-by just past the tree or before depending on
which direction you go.
Hope this helps.
