Has always seemed to me that the GC's always drop in an unachievable objective every now and then just to scupper things.

Personally i think this could be the result the TC side needs to finally demonstrate that a solution is not achievable, and it is time the world woke up to this.

Should put a lot of property owners minds at rest though (TC side, not GC side ) .................... let the cement truck roll!

There is "Peace" already. Some say it began in 1974 when the invading Greeks were knocked back by the Turkish army.

The GC position that Morphu or large parts of it should fall under GC constitution state control under a Bizonal Bicommunal Federal based Cyprus solution is hardly new.

For me both sides have 'desires' that are hard for the other side to swallow and hard to achieve. The negotiations are all about trying to reconcile these things.

I also am personally of the opinion that we (Cypriots and those interested in Cyprus) have to try and move away from narratives that lay blame solely with the other side, if we genuinely want to build a better future for Cyprus and all Cypriots than we have done in the past and to date.

Well said Erol.
I can understand expats like Brian believing that the 'non-solution solution' suits them, but it does nothing for the Turkish Cypriots, and still less for those who are children of people who settled on the island form Turkey 30 or 40 years ago.

Surely Brian is not rejoicing in something of benefit to himself, but rather giving an opinion which is shared by many. Nothing to do with his nationality.

This thread also shows clearly the many differing view points held by all those who have an interest, concern and love of all things Cypriot. The view points are more varied in colour than the rainbow - and maybe THAT is what makes finding a solution more than a ltitle challenging!

Whatever decisions maybe made there will be hundred,s or thousands who will be in disagreement because of the way it affects them and their loved ones.

And so we wait...........................
