Turkcell Invoice

I have just received an e mail from Turkcell requesting payment of 230 Lira stating this is from March 2015 and must be paid by 10 March 2016. Says an invoice is attached but is not. This is very strange as we have a pay as you go mobile and when we left TRNC last October it was in credit about 300 lira. Has anyone else received such e mail or it it a scam?

Suggest you somehow get in touch with Turkcell out here. If you can't do that, I owuld be happy to receive a copy of what you w ere sent and go in and see the office in Girne here. It sounds like a scam to me.
Feel free to send anything to me either as a private message or e mail - if I can be of help.

I had one today too and have been trying to find an email address for Turkcell to forward it to. Yes I believe it is a scam. If you look below Turkcell you will see that it has been sent from
artas@arluce.com and not Turkcell. I have deleted it now. I am on pay as you go so no way do I owe anything.

Marions - Thank you for your very kind offer but I now know this is a scam.
Having now checked my spam box today I discover that I have 2 more of the same emails requesting even larger amounts of lira and from different people. I detail below the persons who sent me the emails.. I now realise this is a scam and people should be made aware.

I've looked at the email addresses posted by moneypenny5, and they all appear to be legitimate email addresses of reputable companies.
It seems likely that the email addresses were 'spoofed' or 'hacked' and that the companies concerned are unaware of, and unconnected to, this activity.
As we have seen on many occasions, requests for payment via email should be treated with extreme caution, and any remittance details should be confirmed by actually speaking to the person requesting the payment - it doesn't matter if you are in another Country, it will be cheaper in the long run!

Glad problem solve.d I get a lot of e mails form so called friend, sbut when one checks the actual e mail address, it is the perosn @ ... something quite different.
Also any communication concerning money shouldbe addressed to you personally and quite oftne they are just to loads of recipients etc.
But thanks for sharing this as there may be others who are doubtful as to the true nature of the sender.
