Problems with Digiturk

A digger driver (perhaps qualified at St Dunstan's Driving School) today managed to strike the top of the electric pylon which serves our home. He was driving along with the bucket very high in the air (as they do) when the "Flash" occurred. When power was eventually restored all our Dodgiturk channels, which are normally in English, are now in Turkish and it is necessary to use the button on the box handset to revert to English every time we change channels. I have tried switching all the power off then on before reloading all the channels. I have also used the options button on the TV remote but because this is in Turkish it is impossible for me to work out what might be necessary.

The power outage could be coincidental and the Wildebeest (bless her) could be right when calling me a Luddite before retiring to bed early, in a strop ! I would be grateful if there is any member who can give this simpleton instructions on what to fiddle with next to try and restore permanently channels in English. Never a dull moment in Cypris is there, and it seems that I will making the breakfasts in the morning and undertaking numerous other chores !

Sorry, can't help. We are cancelling our Digiturk subscription since the reception is so poor - more off than on - and we're fed up calling out the technician who is surly and doesn't fix it up. Hope you get your problem sorted out better than we have. Good luck.

I have done mine when they gave me New Digiturk box last year, and I forgot to ask if it was in English. If you go to the menu where you do the quick installation you will find it their (but of course it's in Turkish !) just can't remember what you do, so ring Digiturk and they will talk you through it, they did with me.Their Tech. Services are 03924447733, or Digiturk 0392 8150821. I have always found them very helpful.

I have to say in Digiturk defense, the only trouble we ever had was really quickly resolved by them, reception is first class and on two occasions the problem was in the zapper which was replaced there and then. Strange to relate , Euronews this morning was in Turkish but it's resolved itself now.

Many thanks for the comments and details for contacting Dodgiturk. Unfortunately when I use the button to take me to the "easy installation" process (which I have had to use many times before) it no longer displays that feature. Murphy's Law dictated that the digger should hit the power line on the very day I had just been into Girne to pay my monthy HD and Premiership Football supplement, but now I can telephone them. Again, many thanks.
