EFRAR - Carrington Shield

The E.F.R.A.R 2016 Committee is delighted to announce that the Carrington Shield 2016 will be awarded to Kai Fletcher. This is awarded annually to the individual the Committee feel best embodies the ethos of the E.F.R.A.R.
Kai Fletcher (14), a student at the Near East School, Nicosia has taken part in the event every year since its inception in 2011, moving through the distances with ease and he now competes in the 8km, alongside his father, Ian Fletcher.
Mr Fletcher commented: "There is no doubt Kai will be delighted to receive recognition of his personal efforts over the past 6 years and I know it will inspire and encourage him, as an individual, to continue helping the local community. Kai lost his beloved Grandfather to cancer and I am confident this award will motivate him to continue his efforts to help raise funds for the Association. We look forward to celebrating this award with him at the next E.F.R.A.R. on the 10th April."
Art Watson, Chairman of E.F.R.A.R. said: “It was a unanimous decision by the committee to select Kai for this award. He puts his heart and soul into this event and raises quite a substantial amount for the Association year on year. He is a worthy winner of the Shield in 2016 and we hope he is inspired to continue with his fund-raising in years to come.”
