In this weeks Express and Star, A married couple in their 40 s found dead in their car. They were facing serious allegations of sexual crimes and rape. (the local rumor is that it involved children). If they were guilty and this being the case, then I think this is the best result. Saved the tax payer millions and they won't repeat the offence.

Pity a few more of these sick people don't follow their example.

What if they weren't guilty but they couldn't face the ignominy and innuendo for the rest of their lives.

Indeed, but what if they were guilty? Best leave individuals to make their own decisions and not deliberate the morality of what if.

I did say if they were guilty, It was the first day of their trial in court that they took their own lives instead of going to court.

Ithink it is a mistake to speculate on this kind of thing without full facts, The whole thing hinges on "IF" guilty. If , despite appearance to the contrary they are actually innocent and have been driven to suicide by gossip or misdirection or misunderstanding of some kind it is rather horrible. There was an instance a few years ago whe a doctor who treated young children was seriously attacked and hounded by neighbours because they were too ignorant to know the difference between "paediatrician" and "paedophile"

Also from what I have read serial offenders of this type do not feel guilt or shame for what they have done- weird as it may be to "normal" people but it is part of their sickness that they have justification in their own minds for their behaviour. On the other hand for an innocent person to be falsely accused of such a crime and go through the trauma of accusation and defending themselves must be truly horrific.

It's a fact that 'they knew' for certain if they were guilty or not.

I suspect they knew the evidence and the probable outcome and simply sentenced themselves.
