Landed at Larnaca airport breaking news

I am meant to go shopping and cross the border today. Will there be problems

Would have thought it would have some knock on affect, maybe more at the airport and security.

The airport at Larnaca is closed and flights are being diverted but don't know where to - possibly Paphos

My friends were due to fly home today from Heathrow to Larnaca but all flight are cancelled. The earliest flight they can get is Thursday they have to put up at an hotel but BA are not paying anything.

Do they have travel insurance? A claim could be made.

Thank god it's all over and no one was hurt !

Well hopefully the Egyptians will see the sense of the outside recommendations that have been made(which they have protested against)in checking their security system which was needed and that this bizarre incident is another wake up call for them.


Meanwhile the ROC President upsets people with his remark about women... just think his timing is wrong

We are the friends of Deniz and no the travel insurance does not cover acts of terrorism.
I know it turned out to be a domestic situation but at the time they off loaded us the reason for the flight cancellation was terrorism.
Another car hired and back at sister in law's house, Thursday flight was the earliest option BA gave us. Some went later today, others are going on tomorrow's flight.
Oh well at least we weren't on the Egyptair flight!
