Wow this will make the cost for antibiotics really expensive. Let's hope we will be able to get a repeat prescription as we were able to get in the UK

This sounds like really good news. I have no idea why a repeat prescription would be advantageous. Antibiotics are becoming less effective because silly people demand them whether they will work or not.

Not good news when you have health problems that require antibiotics and you need to pay a doctor for a prescription which could be in excess of 100tl each time. Unfortunately as a result of certain problems some people have no alternative than to have treatment using antibiotics.

Many women need antibiotics for cystitis, so we are not silly people. I know many women who drinking cranberry juice does not work and pass blood, so chatterbox have more sympathy.

Blimey , you naughty girls Cystitis Honeymoon disease. My wife used to get that regularly, (or she said she did) headache had probably been over used. But seriously we swore by De Witts Pills if you can still get them. They turned your Wee bright blue, hilarious standing in the urinal with other blokes wondering why you were passing blue urine.

Also is natural Yogurt good for problems in that area.

The poster does make a very very valid point about anti biotics they are given out far too easily and have affected peoples natural immune system, If it is 100 TL for a prescription then yes of course that's not good,

People with COPD/Emphysema are recommended to have antibiotics on hand in case they get a chest infection! I went to our local chemist today and was told people have been stocking up.

For the record. The law never got signed, so still able to buy over the counter. No need for stock piling.......

Maybe the law never got signed, but my chemist in Lapta said from the 1st April antibiotics are available only on prescription.

Tested the theory, bought 3 boxes in 3 seperate chemists in Catalkoy, yesterday.

Yes April the first was the day the law was due to be singed and come into force.
