Have you tried telephoning the tel: numbers on her webpage 0392 815 0733 - Moby: 0533 830 6886 or look on their Facebook page and leave a message, she posted on there a couple of days ago. Or ask Chris Arif on there, he's supposed to be involved in it as well.

That is rather a sweeping statement, perhaps it would be wise to wait until the facts are known before running people down.

Check the website link below:

The map shows their old office in Catalkoy, but the address is stated as "Hz. Ömer Street, Gilanlı Center 3, No: 73/C, Kyrenia, Cyprus".
I've no idea where that is in Girne.

Unfortunately it appears that Pembe Ibrahim has left the TRNC, closed her business and returned to the UK. As said, it's not good that she hasn't informed her paid up members and clients. I'm concerned as to what has happened to the confidential documents of her clients that she had stored at her office.

I suspect clients are more concerned about any private papers they may have handed over in connection with problems with builders or their solicitors. You have to admit, its a pretty unprofessional way of closing down a business isn't it?

Unhappy clients could make a complaint to the UK Institute of Paralegals which does have Codes of Conduct for it's members. Whilst Pembe was operating out of the UK, she may have been a UK member or an International member. If not, it may affect her application if applies to join or rejoin the Institute in the future.

Hello All,
I've sent messages to the e-mail addresses for Pembe and Jenna, and, as yet, have not had a reply!
I'm concerned that confidential matters that I've discussed with Pembe may have been disclosed, and that, at present, I have no way of verifying whether my concerns are valid.
If anyone has found a way to contact Pembe, I'd be very grateful if they would share it.

Possibly her business didn't get enough support to make it viable and had to close? Plenty of other businesses shut shop without warning?

A valid comment, but - if personal and confidential information is held by that 'business', then they have at least a moral obligation (if not a duty of care) to inform and advise all their clients of their forthcoming cessation of business.
Several years ago, in an analogous situation, I and fellow company auditors were made redundant at very short notice - our office held files relating to finance and security of our company - despite our warnings, tenancy and use of our office (with all the files still in situ) was subsequently handed to another company for use by regular and casual employees. I am not aware of any misuse of these files - I know that those files remained there for some while, but, nevertheless, opportunity was there....

Hi,
After reading through the post on here, i notice one person had mentioned my name in relation to Citizens Advice.
I have not worked for Pembe for many months now, after leaving for my own personal reason.
Having known Pembe for a long time i know her clients and the work that she does is her life.
She is an honest woman and i know she will not vanish into oblivion without consulting her clients.
Once she is settled in her new office im sure she will be in touch with you all.
A lot of the time she is criticized for travelling back to the U.K and i can assure you that most of the time she is there working, not having a holiday!
Like i said im sure she will be in touch with you all once she is settled.
Thank You

Jenth, I admire your support for Pembe. I would ask though why she hasn't been 'in touch with you all' before she shut up shop without warning to let her clients know what's happening. I don't think she has been criticised for travelling back to the UK only where it has affected her clients due to the lack of communication from her and the amount of time spent in the UK which has affected her business and professional ability to serve her clients.

A quick explanation on the Citizens Advice Facebook page would have sufficed. Would have taken all of 2 minutes. Unprofessional and an act that appears to be causing anxiety for clients already dealing with stressful situations. If this support network is to continue people need to see more proof of activity and that this support network is still up and running effectively. The face book page is much more of a social calendar and general chat page than saying anything constructive about its work and remit. Not a good advert for what is now one of the few places one can go for support,
