Fantastic little bistro East away, driving towards Girne before you get to Lemar on the left hand side.

This place is a lettle gem, selling the best pastries on the island either take away or eat in.
meat pies, of all varieties, scotch eggs, cornish pasties, cakes, Quiches, sponges, much more.
they sell out fast. Lovely staff, warm welcome. Enjoy, I know we did.

Agree with Kiplet. Great food.

Soner - set back off the road in a small parade of shops near Al Shaheen Restaurant in Karakum. They got a great review recently in Cyprus Today

I couldn't agree more. Elaines Quiche is particularly good, I defy anyone to make better. Although we live on the West side, I still drive go to Upper Crust for stuff, but as said in previous message, go early. We went a couple of days ago and by 12.30 there was not a lot to chose from. It really is that good. 250 yds on the RHS past Lemar on the Karakum road. And another thing, her scones with jam and cream, ohhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Agree with everyone else. Lemon merangue to die for. The ready cooked savoury pies being so fresh freeze very well.

Well worth a visit. Reasonably priced and never a crumb left.

I don't do diets, as you all may well have guessed. Will be buying from there as soon as I arrive in Cyprus late Sept.

No worries, I normally buy larger than needed to allow for room to grow.

Just like Cyprus 44 get a friend to praise your cafe or bar then come on to thank them no adverts please.

In the big scheme of things there are relatively few people recommending.

This forum is all about sharing information and experiences. A few people really like the Upper Crust and are letting others know.

Its up to individuals to judge whether they also like the place.

charliec,

I think that kiplet's post will command a lot more respect than yours because of his / her 90-odd posts on all sorts of topics, to your one post to date, implying that kiplet was 'put up' to posting by the owners.

Do you have any proof of this? - or proof that they even know each other?

If you don't, then it is normal to say "I suspect that..." or to phrase it as a question, not to state it as a fact, impugning the integrity of the poster and of the business.

Given that kiplet has never mentioned this particular business before, despite having recommended 13 other establishments in this post Favourite restaurants East of Girne I think that you owe him / her an apology.

Or do you think that kiplet is a personal friend of all those business owners as well, and that they have put kiplet up to mentioning them?

If I had to choose between you and kiplet, in deciding whose posts were the most reminiscent of the worst of C44, it would not be a difficult choice.

And by the way - where did you get that "no adverts please" idea from?

As far as I am aware, this forum welcomes recommendations...

I'm incensed by the charliec posting. I openly agree that I know the owner of Upper Crust, as do loads of other people, but I do not consider what I have posted as the type of advertising he or she is suggesting. We go there, enjoy the baking of her and her team and would recommend the place to anyone. That is not blatant advertising in the true sense of the word (with logos etc). If Upper Crust want to advertise the business as a whole they can do it themselves on another section of this Forum.

charliec's posting makes you remember all the pillocks that crawled out of the woodwork on Cyprus44. Sounds like the snarkiness of that forum is still infecting you, charliec. Stick to positive posts, there's a good boy or girl.

I would just like to say I visited Upper crust for the first time a few weeks ago.
Previous to that I had never met the owner or staff.

Charliec.
It makes me sad what you have posted, however I hope i have put the record straight.

As the owner of Upper Crust I would like to respond to the recent comments made on this forum.
I have never advertised my business on here purely and simply because I do not need to advertise!!!! My customer base is increasing daily due to personal recommendation and word of mouth.
I thank everyone for their recommendations and will try to utmost to cater for everyone's requirements.

Called in yesterday, was very late and just able to get a couple of the best sausage rolls. Even when reheated in the microwave the pastry was still crisp. Elaine told me if I ordered by phone she would make them and put them to the side for me to pick up later.
Will definately be doing that as I unable to get there until the afternoons.
