Electric, Gas, Water, etc. costs - UK versus TRNC
Just for my own interest I have compared what we were paying to Utility companies in the UK in 2010 to what we paid in the TRNC in 2015.
In the UK we had a largish detached house on a "standard" estate-type plot of about 300 square metres.
In Karsiyaka we have a medium to large house on a 1200 square metre plot with a 12m swimming pool.
We are very pleased with a total annual cost saving of £2700 here in Northern Cyprus.
And, of course, that we made the decision to move and live here full time.
I have attached a copy of the calculations that I made (since I cannot insert it into this message without loosing the formatting).

Good point, well presented kibsolar1999.

well.. we install them
https://www.lorentz.de/en/partners/euro ... -trnc.html
not only the pump is premium, also the panels.
http://www.solarworld.de/en/home/
a solar pool pump system for a standart 10 x 5 meter pool comes to 2500 to 3000 euros, depends on installation situation.
all PV solar systems (incl net metering, which would be an alternative to solar pool pumping or for homes without pool) at the moment have a 6-7 years payback.

Excellent value post. However, remember to factor in health care costs if moving here.
