Guess who knocked on our door today,I couldn't believe it.

We had that happen a couple of years ago in Ozankoy a young couple.!!

They have a ruddy sauce. When they called in UK, they always had with them a very young child, a very elderly person or someone disabled. The idea being, of course, to make people feel guilty if they were turned away.

My Wife is an ex-Witness, and eventually saw the light when they insisted she should ostracise her children as they hadn't been baptised in the "Hall".

Sad to say, she is still "brainwashed" to some extent.

They travel over from South, visit quite a few people over here. Not us but some we know.

Message 5....Live & let live, that is fine by me but DON'T knock on my door without invitation. I am very relaxed about people's choices of religion until their beliefs allow a child die rather than accept a blood transfusion, especially when that child has no say in the matter.

They are presumably "working" in behalf of their beliefs.

Should anyone be accosted by these people then I suggest they challenge them for a sight of their work permit.

Should they not have one then contact your local Police Station and request the miscreants to leave your property immediately as they are neither Moslem nor Christian.

Inform them that they may re-visit your property by invitation only.

They would say they ARE Christian because they follow Christ, but within their own understanding. |best say you are a Jew or a Priest or an Immam, and they should leave you alone.

Lovely though they are as people, they do not listen to any other point of view, so it is pointless letting them take hours to try to convince you of their beliefs. Best smile at them, and wish them well, and go back to your pool or whatever you are doing.

Always amused me when an old workmate (prone to malapropisms) referred to them as "Juventus Witnesses", and in the same vein, (due to their "uniform" attire of suits and ties) I always nicknamed the Latter Day Saint missionaries as "the Mormon Mafia" - as said, to a degree, live and let live - but I personally do not choose to follow their creeds...

I dont care how many witnesses Jehovah has, i still think he is guilty !!!

As a theologian (the BD after my name is not Blooming Daft) I realise one could discuss religion for weber and would c state v that Oscar wilde is not necessarily correct! !!!
But I thinkthis thread is about a warning not to discuss the merits of any faith or understanding.
I would welcome another thread on the subject but doubt n it would do much Other than share a lot of thoughts -good and bad.

Discussion and a healthy debate can do nothing but good!
Nothing so touchy as religion!

What I meant is that this thread is really not to start a discussion on religion, but to warn people that JW's are around. It also seems there is a possibility that there may be frauds posing as JW's but who are thieves in disguise!

I didn't think this was a thread to discuss the finer points or dislike of religion. That's all.

Actually I think politics is just as touchy as religion. Having just returned form Italy both those aspects of thought have been challenged. But maybe the religion a bit more than politics.
