I didn't see any dust sheets on the floor , do u go round scrapping the paint spots off the tiles or is that left to the owner ?

Surely the water proof coating should have went on top of the replastered wall and the guy who is staining the woodwork seems to be streaching to reach? And as for dust sheets.......

I always put the water proofing before the new plaster to stop it bubbling off

I use open cardboard boxes outside when I paint our house and they are better and easier to move than dust sheets. I used to be in the game many, many years ago. The kind of plastering they are doing is quick and easy for them and appropriate for indoors, but plastering over paint is not good and will not last very long unless properly sealed first. I would go back and look at their work after a year or so before I got too excited. I was going to refrain from posting on this thread as I've got nothing against anyone making a living, but I also wouldn't like people to be misled. Chopping out cracks is good, rather than just filling them but they usually come back after a while in exactly the same places due to to heat and movement.
