Ten Green Bottles (All smashed)

Went down to the beach for the first time this year.
I can accept that the majority of waste gets washed up over the winter months, but it’s the smashed beer bottles that drive me crazy.
It’s obvious that they have been thrown or dropped deliberately on the rocks to smash them.
Unfortunately the idiots that do this don’t step on them!!

Now give some glass toys to a 3 year old and you will understand.

The idiots who do this often seem to stand on the steps and throw the bottles on to the concrete slab below, as well as breaking glass bottles on the rocks.
I often take a broom to remove the glass, but it happens too frequently. The same happens on the coastal walkway, both on the short pathway before Silver Rocks, and on the longer one, from JKs to Sardunya. Morons, the lot of them. Perhaps, when they have children, or animals, they may realise the error of their ways

In Denmark there is a return deposit on all bottles, cans and plastic bottles.... They need that system here and 50% of the litter would be gone in a flash.
I remember returning Corona lemonade bottles as a boy... never dreamed of throwing them away...

It is the same here in Germany. Pain having to take them back all the time, but at least they are not rolling around everywhere.

We would certainly prefer a deposit system. At the moment, all our glass goes to the recycle bin at Alpha Mega.
Probably though, a deposit system wouldn't work here. Business would happily take the deposit money, but just try getting it back!
