Jumbo supermarket across the south sell citronella oil. Here in the north we managed to track some down in the 1001 shop in Girne and when they never had any we found it in same shop in Lefkosia. Bit hit and miss in the north tho.

We found it once in 1001,a while ago now. We use instead Spira, spirals that sit on a metal spike, burn for around 10 hours or can be extinguished to use later. We have four ornate metal containers made especially for them, the pack they come in also has a spike to sit them on. We put them around the table on the floor, keeps the blighters away from feet & legs, ineffective at high level. For this we burn Citronella candles in lanterns.

Maybe wrong end of stick, are you asking for Citronella Oil or Citronella fragrance'd lamp oil or similar. Two different things. , I have never found pure Citronella oil here.

lol well now I'm confused, the box says 'for use with citronella oil' so I presumed it was the former but if they are two different things think I will steer clear and stick with good old spirals ! thanks for all the responses

Sorry to confuse you, Citronella oil is normally the essential oil. (pure) It is added to things IE, paraffin or similar to make repellent, or candles. etc. Only a few drops are needed. These are the small bottles that Fatouche says she has seen here now.
I make all our repellents with this and other essential oils. It is also used in food and drinks as flavouring. It can also be used to remove parasites and worms for the intestines. It is also used around the eyes of cattle and horses to try to keep the flies away. In the UK many equestrian suppliers sold it.
I have Citronella in my spice cupboard and it looks similar to Cinamon .
