I am in the process of trying to install an irrigation system. Can anybody tell me how to get the piping to lay flat? It comes in a coil and forms a spiral when unrolled, and refuses to straighten and flatten.

Are you using anything to hold it in place?

Will try putting it in the sun, and will fill it with hot water, that seems to be a good idea, thank you.
I haven't pegged it down at all, I can't think of what to use. Have tried some rocks but to have any effect they have to be pretty heavy.

Years ago in a different life I made my own pegs from wire coat hangers. Seemed to do the trick

you can either roll it open
or
rotate the pipe in the opposite direction of the coil as many times as needed.
