Evening All ,
I'm looking for somewhere to buy white vinegar in 1-litre bottles (or bigger), as I can only find expensively-priced 1/2 pint (284 ml) bottles of Sarson's in the likes of Lemar.
Any advice gratefully received.

Is spirit vinegar necessary? Depending on the application - culinary or otherwise there are alternatives... So question is why are you looking for white vinegar?

Thanks Mr. Mac - I'll take a drive along to Supreme over the weekend.
Groucho, and anyone else interested, please check out the link below to a Reader's Digest article.

Thanks for that... question is now I've looked on Reader's Digest - will I EVER be able to cancel? ha ha ha
Cider/Apple (Elma) vinegar is widely available here and generally cheaper than all the others so depending on what you wanted to achieve it might suffice.... Uzum (wine) vinegar too
I use Elma variety in many dishes and preserves and jams... to add flavour.

If the cider/apple vinegar is for medical purposes, the cloudy stuff with bits of apple still in it is recommended, rather than the nice clean/clear stuff that is readily available. If anyone knows where I might purchase the cloudy stuff I would be grateful.

3rd attempt!!!
Sadly, I had a wasted journey to Supeme in Catalkoy today, as there were no 5 litre bottles of White Vinegar available.
I think that Mr. Mac may have confused the bottles of Turs(h)u Suyu, which is, as far as I know, a brine solution/marinade for vegetables.
I'll just have to stick to the Sarson's, or go to see Becker next Sunday.
