If you will be over here for the draw, the runners up could meet you and receive signed copies of your book. Makes publicity and marketing sense.

Have signed up to Cyprus Star online. This might sound a bit thick, in fact I'm sure I am but how do I access the paper ?

Mel7348, I am sure they will send you instructions and a username / password. If you do not hear anything by tomorrow, let me know and I will investigate.
By the way, depends on the size of the mushroom.

Not only will it be good to meet soner in July on a picnic or some such, but I think we need to book him as a speaker to share about his book! I will work on that one, when I know his exact dates.
As to reading on line, yes you need a password which the paper should give you or for which you sign up. If anyone is unclear, let soner or me know and I will chase it up .
I enjoy reading it on line as my husband grabs my paper copy and I like to check what other stories are there apart from mine. It also means that I don't have to see where he has hidden the copy! needless to say, he doesn't use my computer!

Soner & Marion,
Thanks for the offers of help to access Cyprus Star online. Have now managed it without completely disabling my computer.
Must say I thoroughly enjoyed the read. A wide coverage of whole community activities. Snip at the price. Thanks very much.

Night out in a restaurant sounds good, and what about some pampering? Manicure, pedicure, a voucher for whatever?

thanks Mel. I have passed on your kind words to our Editor , Sue, to make a good start to her week. thanks so much and I hope you continue to enjoy Cyprus Star. We are a small team, but we do try to create a paper that people want to read. Sue works hard at that, and I do what I can to help. As far as I am concerned, a newspaper has to have the content that people want to read. So, if you, or anyone else feels there is anything lacking, do tell us!
enjoy!

My suggestion would be a nice meal for two in a restaurant, or your 1974 book.

Soner second that a nice meal for 2 (with drinks would be even better) in a restaurant of choice, and a copy of your book, will look forward to receiving the nice meal

Just a reminder to everyone. Not much time left. The 8th Julyu is the draw, so if you have not yet collected your coupons, or submitted them , then now is tthe time to get moving on this one.
I would have loved to have entered, but I know if I won there would be huge cries of 'FIX!', so I am one less piece of competition.
good luck everyone.

How does one achieve one or more stars? I read everything new or active every day, but don't often have anything I want, or need to contribute.

Not sure what Soner would say on this one - I will let him write later - but.... getting a star on here is a bit like winning the Star competition - You need to be in it to win it!
Getting a star merely means writing a fair bit and commenting, or asking questions, or......... and the more you actually contribute then your entries add up and before you know it - you have and are a star! Unfortunately, there are no poinjts for just reading.
But come on - I am sure you have questions and useful comments/contributions to make. so, get started now and you are on your way!

The Dog Walker, you are five posts away from your 1st Star. If I remember rightly the 10th post equals 1 Star then 25th post 2nd Star, 50th post third Star and so on.
So reply to this post and you will be closer to your 1st star.

Planning ahead to what should be a good event - although I have not had much of a response from KibKomers, so am currently feeling a bit negative about it - sorry folks.
BUT THE IDEA OF THE POTTERY AS A PRIZE. I did think it was great, but it could well go to someone who hates the idea of touching anything to do with clay./pottery etc, etc, and for whom to have a plate with their name on from which they eat could be a complete anathema. So please it would be good to have some feedback on this one, as to how much people would cherish this as a prize. I think there was a suggestion somewhere that a dinner for two would be good. Everyone eats, after all.
so should I be trying to find a restaurant that might give a prize. Trouble is so many people/organisations are on the 'scrounge' that it is getting more and more difficult to find proprietors who can afford to be as generous as they were in yesteryear.
Thoughts of chairman Mao and others wuld be appreciated. Sorry to be sounding like a wet blanket - maybe the sun has got to me.

We completely understand where you are coming from, however the restaurant idea in our opinion is very uninteresting and rather cliche. Nothing exciting or unique about this prize we think. Obviously we may be slightly bias but we are also part of the general public. More interesting the prize = more aroused interest. Plus they get to try it out for free, if they do not like it they are not out of pocket What do you think?
PS No clay touching as all products ready made in the UK and imported Plus all our paints are non toxic and doesn't stain clothes or surrounding - GUARANTEED
