Are the residency requirements the same as 2 years ago for over 60's ? Also does anyone have the opening hours for the offices in Lefkosa?

You have two choices:

Do it.

Do not do it.

Government office hours depend upon the season (summer or winter).

Very informative. Did it. No-one there but us. Closes at 2.30. Prefer to do it.

Bloss, use the search facility on this forum or use the BRS website for this information.

Hi Bloss, Renewed our 'residency' last week. Needed passport, photocopy of passport page showing previous 'residency' stamp, letter from Muhtar with 2.10tl stamp on, original marriage certificate & photocopy (if applicable), bank statement(s), pink card issued at initial 'residency' application, copy of Kocan / contract of sale / rental agreement - whichever is applicable. Residency application form and 12tl stamps per person. Cost us 560tl each for 2 years. Was a really simple and speedy process.

Thank you SunnyParkers for your very concise reply to my question It makes a pleasant change from the negative remarks As for the BRS website (tomsteel) this is out of date (June 2015) As for using the search facility I have done and there isn't a lot on there which I presume is due to the problems Kibkom have recently had Once again Thank you SunnyParkers

We were in and out in 20 mins. They didn't ask for the pink card, but we had all the other things. You can get the stamps in the cafe there, but they charge 'commission' Much easier than it used to be, getting old has it's advantages!

So nobody on the whole forum has tried for permanent residency and either succeeded or failed then? I am surprised.

Looks like we will be the first - and possibly only people in the whole of "Alien" community - to attempt this "Permanent Residency" then. Have always loved a challenge and maybe I can get cheaper water meters out of it as well - lol.
