I do not think that the SAS is a big enough force to rescue all the British holidaymakers in Turkey!!

Bit of scare mongering I think, this is a link to Foreign Office advice;

Scaremongering is quite dangerous!!! This article is silly, not true and it's not possible to execute those proposals. Stick to the Foreign office advice

In the event of the military taking over Turkey how would it affect the 40,000 members of the army currently occupying the TRNC?

As 49,000 is only about 6.5% of the total Turkish military - I think they would stay where they are! Nearly 9000 (1.5%) tried to take over the country in the latest coup and I really don't think they will try again considering the mess they made of it.
As for the SAS being in the South and "Poised" to evacuate all the Brits in Turkey, somehow I feel that even if all 400 to 600 of 22 Sqn turned up that they would actually struggle to collect all the 50000+ Brits and magic them away! Newspaper reporters baffle me at times - where do they think the hundreds of jets and helicopters are going to come from and even if UK manage to rent that many, where at Akrotiri would they find the space to park them apart from out on the salt flats! As for being cleared to open fire - have they never heard of the green card and ROE??? Wht a wonderful tale it is in that paper, includes this weekends winning lottery numbers as well I am told!
