Just a warning to anyone who was going to use this online booking agent !
They have gone bump in the night!! Along with your money (including ours)

Is that the correct spelling? Not hotels.com, which I think might be another company.

Yes. Correct spelling . Think hotels.com are another company but can't be sure . Also will add that even though it was paid with Barclays they say that because they are based in Spain you are not protected by uk safety nets . It ABTA. Even the insurance this company sold you doesn't cover for the hotels booked , only the flights ! As Keith says , it's all in the statement he sent a link to .

When you count up the number of "regrettably not paid" statements,they didn't appear to have settled anyones accounts !!!

Hoteling.com is/was a hotel booking engine belonging to Lowcostholidays, which recently went bust. Lowcostholidays used weasel words to disguise the fact that they had moved base to Mallorca and their customers were not ATOL covered.

My next door neighbours booked to go to Florida with Lowcostholidays, the flights with Thomas cook had been paid he rang the Hotel they had not been paid but the rooms were reserved, he had paid with a credit card he contacted them and was told to pay the hotel and the cost would be refunded in 5-7 Days.

My niece booked through lowcost holidays and she paid on credit card. She has been told flights are paid for ( checked and they have) Accomadation had not and the credit card company is refunding cost of accomdation.

Lucky for some and not others . Barclays will not give a refund! To be honest , why should they ?

Because, if you pay for something with a CREDIT CARD, and don't receive the goods or services that you paid for, then the CREDIT CARD COMPANY are 'jointly and severally liable' for your loss - and it doesn't matter where in the World the LOSS occurred!

Unfortunately paid by Barclays debit card . Perhaps that's where the difference is . Never by debit , always by credit !
