Just another shining example of the way the GC press can print only one side of the story and completely ignore facts it has printed as well. There is no wonder that the GC applications to the IPC have dropped considerably - the RoC Government has banned the GC from applying anyway so there are damned if they do and damned if they don't!

A typical instance of selective reporting is this: "And more than 100 Greek Cypriots who applied to the IPC have not yet been paid, according to press reports in the north.".

I find that strange as I have bought a lottery ticket for next weeks draw and have not yet been paid out either - maybe because my lottery has not yet been drawn in the same way that the 100 GC who have applied have not yet been paid - for the same reason they have moaned about "especially since they go before the European Court and state that compensation is granted in all settled cases" in the same report - because the cases have not yet been heard?

That's interesting.

If Turkey's proposal were to be accepted, i.e. current occupiers of GC land to pay 30% of compensation awarded by the IPC, then the current occupier's share of the liability would come to around £2,650 per donum at current exchange rates, based on the 2.5 million Euros paid as compensation for 60 Acres.

This quite possibly has nothing whatever to do with what is currently being discussed between the two Cypriot leaders of course - it refers to the status quo, rather than to the future.
