If you are going to keep it I am willing to make a contribution toward you getting a larger cage, 100TL from me - anyone else up for that?

Thanks for that, last poster. That's 200TL, I can't stand seeing birds in small cages. Hopefully this one has found a new home.

Perhaps it might be better to contact Kuskor, they are the experts. Haven't got their number to hand, but I'm sure someone will come back with it.

I have Damla's number from Kuskor but not sure what the point would be if this is a tame, domesticated bird.

I can tell you now that Kuskor takes a very dim view of non-endemic pet species being released into a fragile ecosystem and would probably prefer the bird to be destroyed rather than it be able to breed and cause a population explosion that would threaten the local naturally occurring birdlife...
There is another loose bird in Karakum - God forbid that they get together it could be a disaster....

We have had the Rose ringed parakeets in Thanet(East Kent) for many years due to them being released into the wild from an aviary in Ramsgate Kent. Although they are quite pleasant to see flying around our various parks, as Groucho has mentioned, they are not good to other birds, but it seems they are here to stay.

Luckily there is now the Taskent Nature Park. Apart from all other planned activities, we are the first and so far the only officially sanctioned (by government) wildlife rehabilitation center in N. Cyprus.
We are also very sensitive about non-endemic species going feral on the island. However, all life is precious and it is definitely not that poor bird's fault that it has ended up in Cyprus.
We are willing to take her in and provide her with a living space within our park or provide support in any way possible.

Hopefully both birds can be caught & be given a life in safety, as it looks as if the cockatiel is being attacked by local birds.
