Has anyone ever forgotten to renew their car tax ?? I think I have, and am not sure what I should do next.
Is there a big fine for late payment ??
Wasn't there some talk about car tax being abolished ??? WIshful thinking.......

Yes, I've forgotten and gone along a couple of months later and been fined about 25tl on top of the normal amount of tax which they back date. I think the fine depends on how long overdue you are.

Friends of mine were about 6 months overdue after they bought a new car and got confused and the fine was very minimal. They won't question it at the tax office they will just merely add the fine on to the total cost. Don't worry.
