I'm going to need services of someone as well. Kodi is being sent from UK, but won't have a clue what to do when it gets here. An opening for someone to make a buck or two I suspect.

I have a Android box but found it easier using my lap top and streaming KodI to my TV Via a HDMI Cable. Add on Installer will be highlighted and from their you can install add ons like Phoenix, Sports Devil and Exodus probably all you will ever need.

Oh dear, I have a friend who firmly believes that when she picks up her Kodi (49.99 from Amazon) that all she has to do is connect the cable from the Kodi into the USB port of her Smart TV and all will be revealed. Looks like it isn't going to be as easy as that!!

I think I`m reasonably computer savvy and looked at Kodi.
If you have limited PC experience it`s a non starter.
I sometimes wonder if I am missing something somewhere.
I have access to all the channels and I do mean all the channels via an Android app called Mobdro, this can be cast to your TV using this
http://www.johnlewis.com/google-chromecast/p2223608 which is your only cost.
On top of that using iplayer and torrents means that I can download and watch anytime I like in HD quality.
No boxes,no monthly payments just the one off £25 for Chromecast and from then on everything free.
It is so easy why complicate matters?!

We also use chromecast to cast our tablet screen onto our tv.
We also use a number of apps to select programmes we want to watch, this then givesnus a choice of options in case an app is not working for some reason.
Currently use Mobdro, BBC iplayer, Filmon plus Kodi with a good number of different add ons such as Exodus, Specto, Movies etc. This gives us everything we need from every past episode of tv series such as Friends, World at War etc, to movies and also sports channels. So much choice.
Of course you have to have a good internet service. Ours works fine most of the time and as we are not glued to the tv we dont get to upset if we cannot watch something. We watch live streaming of programmes and it works 90% of the time. However, if you are a tv addict or watch a lot of live streaming such as football etc and would be annoyed if things did not work, then probably you would need to go down the satellite route........just in case the internet fails or there is lots of buffering just at the vital moment!

Speaking to someone today who is the process of setting up her Kodi and putting all the Apps they personally need on to Favourites etc. She bought hers from Amazon but made one proviso, study all the Kodi merchandise very closely and make sure that you order one that has been unlocked. It is too easy to order a locked version, find things don't work as you hoped here and then have to take it to be unlocked. Must admit its not something I would have thought of.
