As Digiturk no longer have the rights for EPL, can anyone recommend either Dsmart or Bein sport as a satellite alternative.

Contact details and approximate prices would be appreciated.

Dennis - do you know for certain that Digiturk no longer have the rights for EPL?
Because they have told me, both on the phone and in their Girne office, that they are still in negotiations and an announcement should be made on 30 August - and that they will call or SMS subscribers with the details.

Use Mobdro.com as a cheap alternative in the meantime?

Hubby is an ardent footie fan, and when Digiturk stopped doing Premier League a couple of years ago, changed to Bein. He is a very happy chappy, much better than Digiturk ever was. Don't want to rely on internet based options, as he would go mental if it started buffering or lost the signal at a crucial point in the match......well, at any point actually.

There's no EPL on dsmart as far as I know (unless they've launcged a new channel).

I was told by family member who works for digiturk that dsmart have won a 3 year contract. They are also advertising it on their website.

That's great news. We have had Dsmart for 8 years and currently pay less than 300TL per annum for the full HD package. I'm sure this will be an extra cost bolt on but it's rediculously cheap for the rest so no problem. I wonder if it will only be English commentary?

As far as I know the EPL forbid English commentary outside the UK to try and stop companies like dsmart from selling in the UK to pubs and clubs.

Can I ask if anyone knows a TRNC distributor for dsmart.

Bein has english comentary....at the end of the day you get what you pay for...depends how serious you are about wanting EPL.

Hay Pem in Alsancak. They do all the installation etc.

BeIN purchased Digiturk yesterday (26 August 2016) although it still needs regulatory approval to complete the transaction. Bein is owned by Al-Jazeera, which I didn't know.

Just watched the second half of Man City v West Ham on dsmart, smart spor 2 channel 78 (didn't realise it was on) and it was in English!

Thinking of changing from Digiturk to Dsmart myself (City supporter!).
Would appreciate any info from you on the package you subscribe to, which set top box you use and who set it up for you.

We have had our setup since 2007 which was originally a box and small satellite dish. Can't remember the cost of installation but around £200. We then bought an HD TV so upgraded the box however they only do HD now anyway. Think this was about 450TL. We subscribe to the full package which cost less than 300TL per annum in December 2015. I'm not sure if the EPL will be on a new channel which may cost extra although it was on yesterday.

We get dsmart from Hay Pem in Alsancak (opposite Green petrol station). The guy speaks reasonable English so I would suggest you speak to him. He usually has leaflets showing all the different package options.

Got a quote from the new Dsmart shop just past the state hospital in Lefkosa. Total cost 1080tl for dish, cable, box including 1 years subscription to cinema, sport and dizi package.

They only supply to Lefkosa but have put me in touch with the dealer in Girne. They are based on the right side of the road just past Deniz plaza heading east from Lapta.
