We have done the transfer a few times. You should be fine with the time you have. Luggage has made the transfer on all but one occasion, but that was only because the inbound flight was late and we only had 30mins to rush to get on the Ercan connection. Luggage arrived next morning no probs.
On a couple of occasions we have got off the aircraft on arrival at Istanbul and not had to go thro security etc to get on the Ercan flight. Other times we have had to walk up to security and go thro again........if time is tight we have been met off the inbound flight by TA staff and followed them theo the process. Usually as you are arriving at Istanbul they announce or bring up on the entertainment screens which gate the Ercan flight departs from.
Any doubts just ask.

Whatever you do , don't go through passport control, go transit. Last time I came through, there were staff members just inside the building and I was directed the right way.

The last four times at Istanbul we have been directed to the side of the entrance to transit our boarding card for Ercan was checked then we were directed straight through, no security check.

Depends if you have booked as one journey or two separate flights, if one journey they will transfer your luggage to your connecting flight and you should go through the transfer gate and you should have plenty of time, if separate flights you will probably have to go through passport control collect your luggage and check in again if this is the case you will have to rush, last time this happened to me TA in Manchester gave me fast track passes for customs and for the luggage and we still only just made the flight.

I fly regularly from Edinburgh to Ercan with either 1 Hour or 1 hour 15 mins transfer time. You normally go through International transfers, which is signposted immediately after getting off plane. Most of the time you go through security, but occasionally you go straight through. The last couple of times the gate has been quite a long way from the security area, however I have still made it in plenty of time.
