Or possibly 2 days, Cyprus Today isn't very clear but looks like tomorrow Sunday 28th August, Wednesday 31st August and possibly Sunday 4th September are hunting days across 25% of country. Can't tell you where as the map published is impossible to read even with my glasses aided by a magnifying glass...

Does anybody know a website that would show exactly the areas where hunting is allowed or prohibited?

After a bit of searching I found this http://www.avfed.com/images/inceav-2016b.jpg
Seems to be the correct map according to dates listed on bottom left.
Pink areas are closed to hunting.

You're welcome. We are in the middle of a hunting area so have to alter our dog walking route accordingly during the season, heard one gun out at 6.30 this morning.

As soon as it was light the mayhem started - as if world war 3 had broken out in Bellapais. Pellets rattling against the french windows. When will these horrible people come to their senses and stop shooting everything that flies. The bird population is already severely diminished and this Summer's drought cannot have helped.

Sorry Loobyloo, it was still dark when we were awoken - I estimate 5.00am. I think the first two shots near the Green Palace were a rallying call to all who might still be asleep. Then it was as if war had broken out. Twenty loud shots per minute on average. Our dogs jumped on our bed for protection and it was obvious that all laws regarding how close they can be to dwellings was being broken. Our neighbour has an ongoing problem with pigeons on his roof and it seems to me like a bit of early "Let's blast the b*gg*rs before anyone cottons on" was going on.

Because the birds they can legally shoot (pigeons, doves, crows) are predominantly attracted to built up areas for their sources of food and water, I think there was an early effort to drive them from sanctuary to the areas where they can blast them to bits with no complaints. It's the worst I have ever heard during any hunting season and we have been here 12 years. Anyone who was out late last night and needed a lie-in must have been cursing our flak-jacketed friends. The sooner they abolish this needless pastime the better in my opinion - it's the one thing that get's my goat about this place.

Have you seen the state of some of these *hunters*, they wear camouflage gear, have strings of bullets across their chest, when I first saw them I thought they were hunting for big game instead of pigeons and the like. As they say, small things amuse small minds.

This is the hunt where they are allowed to kill Doves and larks, north and south of the border. According the leader of this lot they are following EU directive whereby Doves etc are of " least concern" What appears on flags etc "a Dove" signifying peace!!!. So lets kill them off and perhaps next year they will be of "most concern". Absolutely stark staring bonkers.
