I decided to buy a new phone my old one wasn’t coping
Did the research and the best bang for my £ was a Redimi Note 3 5.5”

I decided to use Amazon and ended up on Amazon marketplace
I chose a UK supplier on Amazon Market place is was Didigimax on line of Leicester

Phone arrives within two days of ordering just what I wanted

Fast forward to month five and it starts to go wrong not only did it do predictive spelling it did paragraphs sentences the lot out of its own mind

I got in touch with digimax 3 times and no reply just ignored me
I then tried Amazon as they were still selling on the site and Amazon should surely help

After six weeks of trying being passed from online department to department all I could get out of them I did not qualify for their A-Z guarantee it last 90 days

Sale of goods rights no concern of theirs
IN FACT DIGIMAXONLINE is still on Amazon marketplace on Saturday

Luckily I had purchased via Barclaycard over £100 under £30,000 so get the bank to pay up
WRONG as the supplier Digimaxonline & Amazon are not one entity so not covered

Luckily I appealed to Barclays better nature and they reimbursed me the £144
Thank you Barclaycard

Just beware if buying on Amazon market place don’t do it because all your rights are ignored
It was bad enough sorting it from the UK let alone abroad

Sorry to appear thick but what is the difference between buying from Amazon and the Amazon market place. We had a "dud" Apple 1Pad 18months ago and Amazon couldn't have been more helpful. Not only did they pay money back into bank account within 14 days, but after having postage receipt scanned and sent to them, postage also refunded. (from TRNC to UK) Same with a Kindle Fire, sent back as faulty. Amazon agreed without argument that it clearly had a dodgy chip, it was replaced and upgraded without argument.

The Amazon market place is where "other sellers" supply the goods, Amazon is where the seller is Amazon as the supplier.

Amazon Marketplace allows third party sellers to use the Amazon website and sell goods
example a separate company seller such as Digimazonline Ltd advertises mobile phones on the Amazon site and appear AS OTHER OFFERS .amazon takes a commission for allowing the seller to sell on their site
Amazon offers 90 day cover subject to certain conditions one of which is the seller honours the sale if they don't Amazon don't care
Also because you buy off Amazon and are supplied by the seller you are not covered by the consumer credit act that the credit card would pay up

I bought my granddaughter a children's tablet through Amazon marketplace that became faulty 5 1/2 months later. The seller was very unhelpful and in desperation I contacted Amazon, who were so helpful. They emailed me a returns label and said a refund will be issued once received in their warehouse. The customer service agent did comment though that they didn't have to do this and it was a goodwill gesture due to my being an Amazon Prime member!
