Have just had a conversation with our Cypriot friend who keeps bees. His english is not very good, but as far as we can understand, he said that in order to remove bees from an olive tree he would have to cut it, for which he would have to get permission from the government. He said it is best to contact the Belediye. Sorry we can't help.

Many thanks Hippocampus for investigating this for us.
It's not causing us any problem, so not a pest issue. Guess we were just hoping it could be taken and integrated into a hive by someone who has bees. There appears to be a nice lot of honey and beeswax there. Just out of interest, do you know if that means we have to get government permission to prune our olive trees? Thanks for your help.

We have a bee hive in our Olive Tree and was once told that we had to cut the olive tree down to remove the hive and we refused.

A friend of mine works at the Tulips Office and he has bee hives and regularly comes along to remove ours, I will get in touch with him today for you.

Please pm your phone number
