Attempted break in - Yesiltepe

Just arrived back in Cyprus after 3 months in UK to find someone attempted a break in! They used a rock to prise open the shutters and then presumably were going to smash in the window but perhaps got disturbed. Will be reporting to police in the morning but just wanted people to be aware. In 12 years of having a house here with no problems this leaves a very nasty taste in the mouth!

Sorry to hear, I think it is very important to try to make it less obvious when you are at home and when you are away. For example I've seen some houses that are visible from the road leaving lights on/doors open/car boot open etc when they're in and when they are not they lock everything up and do not leave a light on.

This makes it very easy to determine when someone is in and when they are not, having a couple of small dogs is good when you are there, but not as good when you're not...
